during Cedar Rapids Pride Week.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

SHORT performance works
that EXPLORE the diversity of queer sex,
the changing realities of QUEER sex,
and/or the role that sex has played in the LGBT movement;

WORKS that help engage audiences in vibrant conversation
about queer SEX
and the VALUES that influence sexual expression
(pieces with audience PARTICIPATION are a plus);

We especially encourage submissions by young people, seniors, women, people of color, and trans folks.

WORK SPECIFICATIONS:

Up to 10 minutes in duration.

ANY performance genre:
plays, performance art, dance, burlesque, drag, music, poetry,
whatever is necessary to get your message across.

MAY involve original work,
or existing scripts that have been previously produced through Theatre Offensive :CHOOSE from the SCRIPTS at the Come As You Are Web site.

IF you submit a piece
that YOU'VE created
BUT that you don't want to perform,
WE WILL TRY to find the performers!

HOW TO APPLY
(3 Ways To Be Involved):

1st Way:

Completely FILL OUT the Come As You Are APPLICATION
and include a copy of the proposed work
(script, performance description, etc., running no more than 10 pages),
and indicate your desire to perform this piece yourself.

2nd Way:

FILL OUT the Come As You Are APPLICATION
with just your NAME and CONTACT INFORMATION and express interest in RECREATING a piece that already exists.
Approved scripts can be found and downloaded at the Come As You Are Web site HERE:

3rd way:

FILL OUT the Come As You Are APPLICATION
and indicate that you are submitting a script
(of no more than 10 pages)
and that you have, or would like us to help you find, a performer to present it.
